Mark Hughes confirms new Deal with Peter
Mark Hughes has strongly hinted that a new deal is on the table for Peter Crouch and he would be penning it soon.
Crouch’s current deal with Stoke is close to getting finished and for the past few weeks, there had been reports coming from various quarters that the 2014-15 League might put a full stop on the forward’s stay at the club.
West Bromwich Albion had been speculated as his probable future destination.
But, if Mark Hughes, the man who is in charge of Stoke City, is to be believed, Crouch is someone who is central to the future plans of the Potters and there is no chance of the club letting him go come the next summer.
Crouch has always been there as a regular starter for Stoke. From every manager that he has played under at Britannia Stadium, he has got a lot of admiration and praise.
Even during this season too, he has been starting and has been playing quite well. His most recent heroic came in the game versus Manchester united where he set it up beautifully for one of his fellow attackers to get the ball into the post and get Stoke ahead by 1-0.
It’s another thing that Stoke lost the lead later on and the game was a draw.
Talking about Crouch last evening, Hughes said, “You would have seen him play against United. How energetic he was. These rumours don’t bother him single bit.”
“There would always be stories in the media. But, one thing that I would clarify here is that we are planning our future with Peter in mind. So, he is going to stay with us only.”
In total, Crouch has featured 118 times for Stoke City in the Premier league.
